TLDR Traveler

About me

About The Author

Hi, I’m Hannah!

I’ve lived in the U.S. all my life, until I moved to the Netherlands for my Master’s degree at 22 and been here ever since. I began traveling solo at 19, and now I encourage other people to do the same because solo traveling helped me find my purpose, find confidence, and changed my mindset on life. When I am not traveling, I spend my time being a full-time college student, a rugby teammate, avidly searching for new bakeries, and dreaming of going bikepacking one day. I believe traveling is an essential addition to everyone’s lives, and I can’t wait to help you balance it in yours.

About TLDR Traveler

The seeds of this blog began in 2023 when I found myself planning imaginary trips as a stress relief from real life. I thought, I’ve already done the research, why not save someone else the time?

Yet, I convinced myself that solo traveling doesn’t make me special. Then, texts from friends asking for travel advice made me believe there is something cool in my endeavors.

Still, I thought that blogs were fading out. One too many letdowns from overhyped destinations on TikTok convinced me otherwise there too.

But, how was I going to stand out against thousands of other blogs? The answer came when I got fed up with blogs that tell their entire life story before getting to the juicy parts – where to go and what to do! So, I made TLDR traveler – where you get the short version when you need it, and the long version when you want it.

How Can I Help You?

I am not an influencer, so I strive to give real advice (including my blunt opinions…) all while encouraging you to achieve your travel goals.

Solo & Budget Friendly

I am passionate about encouraging people to adventure on their own. It’s empowering! Plus, all my trips are self-funded, so my suggestions always include budget options.

Europe + The Netherlands

Most of my content is centered around Europe, simply because it is where I have spent the most time, but I am slowly changing this! Of course, I have the most posts about Netherlands because I live there 🙂

Off The Beaten Path

One of my main goals is to help people see the world without getting pulled toward over-crowded or over-hyped places. I especially love cozy small towns.
